OVM Board Members

J.Mike Mullings:
Mike served with the 1st Cav/Medivac in Vietnam and was medically retired from the Army in 1977.  In 1981, he and others founded Oklahoma Veterans Memorial,Inc.  After lobbying with the Oklahoma State Legislature, HRJ 1026 was passed in 1983 unanimously donating State land for a veteran’s memorial.  He currently serves as President of Oklahoma Veteran's Memorial, Inc.

Dr. Tom Joyce:
Chiropractor for 33 years in Bethany, Oklahoma. Dr. Joyce is married with two children and two grandchildren. Dr. Joyce served in Vietnam 1968 & 1969 as part of 2/7 Infantry, 1st Cav. Div. L.R.R.P. Sgt.

Mr. Bill Pitts:
After volunteering for several years on the flag committee of the Oklahoma Veterans Memorial Board, Bill Pitts was appointed Acting Secretary on March 6, 1997 by President Mullings.  On May 1, 1997 Pitts was formally elected Secretary of the Board. He is retired and presently lives in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Mr. Jim Pitts
Jim served in the U.S. Army from February 1966 to December 1972.  During which time he served in Vietnam from June 1966 to July 1967 with Co. A 502nd  Combat Aviation (UH-1) 13th Combat Aviation Battalion (Delta Battalion); in Japan from February 1969 to January 1971 with HHC USAPERSCEN FE; and in Germany from January 1971 to December 1972 with HHC 7th Army Training Center.  He attained the rank of SSG E-6.

Pastor Drue Freeman:
Pastor Freeman is a native of Oklahoma City and joined the Veteran’s Memorial Board in 1993.  He is currently serving as Treasurer.  He is currently pastor of Trinity Bible Church in Oklahoma City, where he has been since 1991.  He is married with two children and two grandchildren.
